A Smith County Woman accused of hitting an out-of-town driver and a local Good Samaritan on Loop 49 in April turned herself into authorities last week and was charged with two counts. According to the Texas Department of Public Safety, DPS troopers responded to a three-vehicle accident on Loop 49, just north of Highway 64, at around 10:20 p.m. Wednesday, April 12. more

A Bullard man who was the subject of a strange arrest situation in March was indicted by a jury on one charge last week. The suspect, identified as Justin Carsten, 22, of Bullard, was indicted by the jury on Thursday, June 1, on one count of Assault on a Public Servant after he allegedly bit a deputy with the Smith County Sheriff’s Office who was attempting to restrain Carsten. more
Members of Eagle’s Bluff Country Club in Bullard, along with their guests, will help to celebrate America’s birthday together in the spirit of patriotism and freedom at the Eagle’s Bluff Independence Day Celebration, to be held Sunday, July 2, at Eagle’s Bluff, located at 700 N. Eagle’s Bluff Blvd. “We are very excited about our Independence Day Celebration,” said Jay Miller, Director at Eagle’s Bluff. “It’s going to be an all day event; we scheduled the event before the Fourth of July because we know a lot of our members will be on the lake or at other celebrations around the area.
