The Smith County Commissioners Court approved an inter-local agreement with the City of Bullard on Tuesday, Sept. 19, to take its stray dogs into the Smith County Animal Shelter. Since the new Smith County Animal Shelter opened in December 2016, the Commissioners Court has approved similar agreements with the cities of Troup, Arp and Whitehouse. more
As the month of July transitioned into August, approximately 20 members of Bullard Boy Scout Troop No. 366 set sail on a 75-foot schooner sail boat, the Grand Nellie, for a six day, five night excursion aboard experience, allowing the scouts to learn how to crew a sail boat as they sailed around the Florida Keys. more

The Bullard Rotary Club is currently welcoming members of the community to hit the links at the organization’s fourth annual golf tournament event, to be held Monday, Oct. 9, at Bullard’s own Eagle’s Bluff Country Club, located at 700 N. Eagle’s Bluff Blvd. The tournament will be split into a morning and an afternoon flight, Registration for the morning flight will begin at 7 a.m. with an 8:30 a.m. shotgun start, while the afternoon flight’s registration will begin at 11:30 a.m. with a 1:30 p.m. shotgun start. In between the two flights of golfing fun, a lunch catered by Eagle’s Bluff will be served from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. more
Smith County Sheriff’s Office officials identified one person injured and one person arrested after a shooting stemming from a domestic dispute during the afternoon of Sunday, Sept. 24, in Flint. According to officials, the disturbance occurred at approximately 4:30 p.m. in the 10000 block of Southern Trace Circle in Flint. more
