The Smith County Sheriff’s Office recently completed a check of sex offenders who reside in the county. Of the 383 individuals who were investigated during the timeframe of Wednesday and Thursday, June 27 and 28, a total of 363 sex offenders were in compliance. During the investigation, four sex offenders were found to be out of compliance, with one being arrested for failure to comply with registration during the check, and a second subject at the location was also arrested for an outstanding warrant. more
