The Bullard Rotary Club is currently welcoming members of the community to hit the links at the organization’s fourth annual golf tournament event, to be held Monday, Oct. 9, at Bullard’s own Eagle’s Bluff Country Club, located at 700 N. Eagle’s Bluff Blvd. The tournament will be split into a morning and an afternoon flight, Registration for the morning flight will begin at 7 a.m. with an 8:30 a.m. shotgun start, while the afternoon flight’s registration will begin at 11:30 a.m. with a 1:30 p.m. shotgun start. In between the two flights of golfing fun, a lunch catered by Eagle’s Bluff will be served from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. more

A Bullard man was indicted recently on a charge of Sexual Assault of a Child after allegedly having a sexual relationship with a 16-year-old girl. An arrest warrant was issued for Cory Jacob Caraway, 25, of Bullard, by 114th District Judge Christi Kennedy on Monday, April 17, with a second degree felony charge of Sexual Assault of a Child, citing Penal Code 22.011 (a) (2), which states that the accused person intentionally or knowingly commits an act of sexual assault on a child (under the age of 17) through various means. more
Smith County residents will be able to buy fireworks to celebrate San Jacinto Day again this year. At the regular scheduled meeting held Tuesday, March 21, Smith County Commissioners voted to approve an order authorizing fireworks sales from April 16-21, 2017. more
Smith County Sheriff’s Office officials identified one person injured and one person arrested after a shooting stemming from a domestic dispute during the afternoon of Sunday, Sept. 24, in Flint. According to officials, the disturbance occurred at approximately 4:30 p.m. in the 10000 block of Southern Trace Circle in Flint. more
A Tyler man was recently arrested by the United States Marshals Service after allegedly setting a woman on fire. Austin David Taylor, 25, of Tyler, allegedly set fire to a woman, identified as Emily Roberts, earlier this month in the Shadybrook neighborhood near Lake Palestine, according to the Cherokee County Sheriff's Office. more
