According to the FAFSA website, the opportunity to file the 2017-2018 FAFSA has permanently changed from January 1 to October 1, allowing parents and students to use tax information from an earlier tax year. more
A tragic week in the city of Bullard’s history ended Saturday morning, as law enforcement officials publically confirmed that the body of 10-year-old Kayla Gomez-Orozco was located after she went missing last Tuesday. The suspect is the case has been identified as 24-year-old Gustavo Zavala-Garcia, a “family member” of Gomez-Orozco, who was booked into the Smith County Jail Sunday on an Immigration Detainer and later charged with one count of Capital Murder with bond set at $10,000,000, according to Smith County Jail records. more
Officials are investigating after recovering a body of a man from the waters of Lake Palestine early last week. According to a press release from the Smith County Sheriff's Office, deputies were dispatched to the scene of a suspicious circumstance at approximately 12:30 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 30, to the 18000 block of Singing Wood Ln., in Flint. more
