A Bullard man who was the subject of a strange arrest situation in March was indicted by a jury on one charge last week. The suspect, identified as Justin Carsten, 22, of Bullard, was indicted by the jury on Thursday, June 1, on one count of Assault on a Public Servant after he allegedly bit a deputy with the Smith County Sheriff’s Office who was attempting to restrain Carsten. more
Members of Eagle’s Bluff Country Club in Bullard, along with their guests, will help to celebrate America’s birthday together in the spirit of patriotism and freedom at the Eagle’s Bluff Independence Day Celebration, to be held Sunday, July 2, at Eagle’s Bluff, located at 700 N. Eagle’s Bluff Blvd. “We are very excited about our Independence Day Celebration,” said Jay Miller, Director at Eagle’s Bluff. “It’s going to be an all day event; we scheduled the event before the Fourth of July because we know a lot of our members will be on the lake or at other celebrations around the area. However, we wanted to give our members the opportunity to celebrate the Independence Day holiday together as the Eagle’s Bluff family.” more

Bullard Independent School District recently made an announcement concerning the filling of principals at two of its campuses for the 2017-2018 school year. On Wednesday, May 17, Bullard ISD Superintendent Todd Schneider appointed Kenley Dover as the new Bullard Middle School principal, as well as Jodie Albritton as the new Bullard Intermediate School principal. The principal vacancies at BIS and BMS were created after the appointment of former BIS principal Amy Bickerstaff as Bullard ISD’s Director of Teaching and Learning, as well as former BMS principal Cheryl Hendrix as the Director of Human Resources and Special Programs, during the Thursday, May 11 regular scheduled meeting. more
