A spirit of togetherness and teamwork filled the inside of the Brook Hill Herrington SportsCenter, as several student organizations and extracurricular teams from Brook Hill, along with the visiting Saint John Paul II Eagles football team of Boca Raton, Fla., recently worked together for a cause bigger than themselves. Members of the Brook Hill Guard varsity football team, as well as the Brook Hill Guard Cheerleaders and Brook Hill Cadets Drill Team, joined forces with the Saint John Paul II football team Saturday, Aug. 26, to prepare meals to be sent to the African nation of Zambia. more
East Texas Medical Center in Bullard, located at 435 N. Doctor M. Roper Pkwy., began serving residents of Bullard as an urgent care facility Thursday, Sept. 1. “Patients have been very receptive to our urgent care services,” said Kelly Cox, ETMC Urgent Care administrator. “They love the convenience; no appointment is necessary and it is fast and cost-efficient. We see patients with minor injuries and illnesses such as broken bones, lacerations, urinary tract infections, rashes, fevers, coughs, colds, headache, sore throat, earache or flu-like symptoms.” more

The City of Bullard will hold the second of two public hearings regarding the city’s tax rate Thursday, Sept. 1, inside the Bullard City Hall Council Chambers. The Bullard City Council is currently proposing a 1.13-cent decrease in the city tax rate by setting the rate at .563264 cents for each $100 of appraised value. The preceding year’s tax rate was set at .574571. more
