The spirit of Christmas was present in the city of Bullard last week, as the First United Methodist Church of Bullard welcomed children of all ages to its annual “Supper with Santa” event, held Wednesday, Dec. 20, at the FUMC Bullard Family Life Center. “We were happily surprised to see so many faces at Supper with Santa,” said Deirdre Leung, FUMC Bullard Children’s Pastor. “We’ve pleased to be able to open our doors to our community for an event like this. Our motto for this year is ‘FUMC Loves Bullard’; we want to love on our community and to always have our doors open for them. Everyone in our community has a place at FUMC Bullard.” more
Bullard Independent School District recently celebrated the successes of one of its newest campuses, as the Bullard ISD PRIDE Academy held its inaugural graduation, presenting high school diplomas to students making up the campus’s Class of 2018 during a graduation ceremony held Saturday, Dec. 2, inside the Bullard High School Audry B. Owens Auditorium. more
The local Bullard Boy Scout Troop No. 366 recently awarded its 42nd Eagle Scout honor, with the honor going to Will Kuczkowski. The young scout celebrated obtaining the highest achievement or rank attainable in the Boy Scouting program of the Boy Scouts of America (BSA) during an honor court ceremony held Tuesday, Dec. 5, at Bullard Southern Baptist Church. more
Although Smith County is not currently under a burn ban, the Smith County Fire Marshal is urging residents to be extremely cautious. Smith County Fire Marshal Connie McCoy-Wasson is asking people to refrain from burning until the area sees a substantial amount of rainfall. There is a chance of rain this weekend. more
