The awards are rolling in for the Brook Hill Guard cheerleading squads, as the cheerleaders recently returned home from camp with several top recognitions. “We’re very excited about our squads going into next year,” said Tiffany Hubbard, Brook Hill cheer sponsor. “We have a total of eight seniors that we are expecting to serve as our leaders. Most of our cheerleaders have returned from last year, with the exception of one or two additions. They’re very excited to be here and are ready for football season.” more
After an intermission for the summer months, the Bullard Panther Marching Band is getting back together, as the organization prepares to host a number of summer band events for both incoming and returning members. “I’m extremely excited about the upcoming school year for the band,” said Gary Jordan, Bullard ISD Director of Bands. “We’re predicting to have around 180 members of the Panther Band this year, with roughly 60 of those being freshman band students. Even though it’s not a year to advance in UIL marching contest, we’re looking at performing at contests in Sunnyvale, Mineola, and Royse City, as well as performances at the State Fair of Texas, Disney World, and at halftime at a Stephen F. Austin State University Lumberjack football game. more
Donald Love, a Bullard High School graduate, is an avid dancer, and will soon have the opportunity to dance on one of the world’s biggest stages once again. Love was recently selected as one of 18 young dancers on the 2017-2018 Dallas Cowboys Rhythm and Blue hip-hop dance team, his second consecutive year to claim a roster spot on the squad. more
Anna Armstrong, a May graduate of Tyler Junior College and a biology major, is one of several students selected to participate in a summer research academy. A Whitehouse native, Armstrong is spending the summer conducting biological research at Imperial College in London, England. She was also selected as a 2017 Coca-Cola Gold Academic Team member and scholarship recipient. She will attend the University of Boston in the fall. more
The directors of the Bullard High School Panther Band recently named the students who will fill the band's top student leadership positions for the 2016- 2017 school year. “I’m extremely excited about the upcoming school year for the band,” said Gary Jordan, Bullard ISD Director of Bands. “We’re already focused on getting things in motion for next year. We’ve got a great student leadership staff coming in that I am very proud of and expect them to lead the band, not only by command, but also by example this season.” more
Bullard Independent School District students without lunch money will no longer have to eat a different lunch than their peers thanks to a new district policy adopted at the regular scheduled school board meeting, held Monday, June 12, inside the Bullard ISD Administration Building’s Board Room. more
