Known throughout East Texas for its giving heart in times of need, the Bullard community, as well as Bullard Independent School District and The Brook Hill School, stepped up to help their neighbors from Southeast Texas who were directly impacted by the flood waters and storm damage of Hurricane Harvey last week. Through a collaborative effort of collecting from the Bullard community, as well as Lindale Church of Christ, Bullard Church of Christ, Southside Church or Christ in Jacksonville, and Sadler’s in Jacksonville, a total of five trucks and four trailers loaded down with donations departed Bullard and traveled to Mauriceville, with Campbell Custom Homes owner Jason Campbell aboard the expedition. more

The spirit of the Bullard Panthers will fill the streets of downtown Bullard next week, as the 2017 Bullard High School Homecoming Parade and Downtown Pep Rally will be held Wednesday, Sept. 20. “We’re all very excited for this year’s BHS Homecoming parade,” said Jeri Coke, BHS Homecoming Parade organizer. “With Homecoming being earlier this year, getting everything set up and everyone on the same page has been a little challenging, but at the same time, it’s a very exciting time and we’ve sort of jumped in with both feet. We want to get the word out as much as we can and invite everyone to come to the parade and hang out afterwards to cheer on the Panthers.” more
Although the atmosphere across the state of Texas was filled with the return of Friday Night Lights recently, one local team stopped to give back to needy members of its community. The Brook Hill Guard varsity football team, under the direction of second –year head coach Scott Ryle, took part in packaging food for needy school-aged children Saturday, Sept. 2, at the East Texas Food Bank in Tyler. more
The award-winning Bullard Belles drill team will bring back a popular fundraising event this month, allowing the Bullard community an opportunity to drive in style, as the organization is partnering with Bill McCrae Ford and Lincoln in Jacksonville for the third annual Luxury Lincoln Test Drive Event 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 23, in the parking lot of Bullard High School. more
Theatre TJC begins its 2017-18 season with an original play written and directed by TJC theater professor Dr. David W. Crawford. “The Olive Press: The Gethsemane Event” is a story based on a sermon by 18th-century theologian Charles Spurgeon. more
As the 2017-2018 school year begins at Bullard High School, one of the school’s most recognizable student organizations has announced its new lineup. The award-winning Bullard Belles, directed by head director Shelly Johnston and assistant director Cecilee Walker, selected the members of the new line before school dismissed for summer break. more
