The administration of the Bullard Early Childhood campus will offer parents a second opportunity to register their young children for Pre-Kindergarten and Kindergarten classes for the 2018-2019 school year. Parents will be able to participate in an upcoming student registration event, to be held from 9 a.m. – 2 p.m. Tuesday, July 31through Wednesday, Aug. 8, at the BEC campus. more

After an intermission for the summer months, the Bullard High School Panther Marching Band is getting back together, as the organization prepares to host a number of summer band events for both incoming and returning members. more
The fifth annual Smith County Area Go Texan scholarship gala is scheduled for Saturday, July 21, at Harvey Hall Convention Center, located at 2000 West Front St., in Tyler. The event begins at 6 p.m. and is the major fundraising event of the organization. The gala will feature both silent and live auctions as well as live music from the Frank Ray Band and an opportunity to hit the dance floor, all while supporting local students through the scholarships financed through gala proceeds. The meal for the event is being catered by 1836 Texas Kitchen. more
Tyler Junior College will offer a specially designated orientation session for students in technical programs. Prospective students and their families are welcome to attend the free event, which will be held noon-4 p.m. Saturday, July 21, at the Skills Training Center at TJC West, located at 1530 South Southwest Loop 323 in Tyler. Orientation will be offered for prospective students in TJC technical programs, including automotive technology, electrical/electronic controls technology, heating and air conditioning technology, industrial maintenance technology, power plant technology, and welding technology. more
A former Bullard High School cheerleader has once again made the cut for a roster spot on a dance team that represents one of the iconic sports teams in American sports. Donald Love, a Class of 2008 graduate of Bullard High School, was recently selected to perform with the Dallas Cowboys Rhythm and Blue hip-hop dance team. more
Tyler Junior College is offering prospective students the opportunity to learn more about the campus during New Student Orientation events, held during the month of July. more
The University of Texas at Tyler recently released the names of several local residents on the school’s Spring 2018 President’s Honor Roll and Dean’s Lists. In total, 654 students were named to the Spring 2018 semester’s President’s Honor Roll. more
A total of 11,347 students enrolled during the 2018 spring semester at The University of Alabama were named to the Dean’s List with an academic record of 3.5 or above or the President’s List with an academic record of 4.0 (all A’s). The UA Dean’s and President’s lists recognize full-time undergraduate students. The lists do not apply to graduate students or undergraduate students who take less than a full course load. more
