There will be a new face to students attending the Bullard Early Childhood campus beginning in the 2018-2019 school year. During a regularly scheduled School Board Meeting, on Monday, April 9, the Bullard Independent School District Board of Trustees approved the recommendation of the Superintendent in the hiring of Amanda Goode as Bullard Early Childhood Principal. Goode will transition to this position for the 2018-19 school year following the retirement of Michelle Hurst, who has been with the district for (22) years and has served as principal of BEC for over 20 years. “We are very excited to have Mrs. Goode leading the Early Childhood campus next school year,” said Todd Schneider, Bullard ISD Superintendent. “Amanda is a ‘natural leader’ and a high-performing educator with goals for the campus that align with the School Board’s vision of becoming a ‘lighthouse’ district in East Texas. She will ‘Lead the Way’ for BEC.” Goode is a native East Texan and is currently completing her 17th year in education, with 13 years of her experience being an employee of Bullard ISD. She has taught at the secondary and elementary levels, as well as served as Assistant District Curriculum Director, and District Testing Coordinator. Currently, Goode is serving as the Assistant Principal at Bullard Intermediate School with Principal Jodie Albritton. Goode received a Bachelor degree from the University of Texas at Tyler and Master of Education degree in Education Technology Leadership from Lamar University. She is married to her high school sweetheart, Michael, of 25 years. The Goodes have one son and two daughters: Cody, a coach at Bullard Middle School and paraprofessional at Bullard ISD’s PRIDE Academy, married to his wife, Dawn; and Mikaela and Carley, currently students UT Tyler. “I am honored and blessed with the opportunity to work with an amazing team in shaping the hearts and minds of our littlest Panthers,” said Goode. “I am excited about the endless possibilities at the Early Childhood campus. I want to honor the legacy Mrs. Hurst has created through her strong leadership by continuing to provide a safe, positive and collaborative environment for the staff and students of BEC. I have big shoes to fill; however, I look forward to working with and alongside the staff of Bullard Early Childhood and getting to know our future students and their families.” more
