The Brook Hill Upper School’s Fine Arts Department is preparing to welcome patrons for their upcoming 19th annual Fall Dinner Theatre production performances. “Being our 19th annual event, we are very excited for this year’s performance,” said Glenn Ballard, Brook Hill Fine Arts director. “We have built a reputation over the years of providing an excellent dinner and theatrical show in a great environment.” more
The Bullard High School and Middle School Choir programs have been able to achieve a new high standard of excellence during the 2017-2018 school year, as a number of the singers earned top marks at recent All-Region Choir Auditions. For the BHS choral program, the singers competed against a total of 188 choir students at the 2017 UIL Region 21 All-Region Choir competition, held Saturday, Oct. 7, at Jacksonville Middle School. more
The hallways of Bullard High School will be filled with Halloween fright, as the Bullard High School Theatre Department will host a Halloween-themed event, “The House of Torment,” 8 p.m. to 12 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 28. “We’re really excited about bringing back our haunted house event this Halloween,” said Stacy Hightower, BHS theatre teacher. “It’s a great way to get in the Halloween spirit. We didn’t get to host an event last year because of scheduling purposes, but the demand for an event like this helped up to understand we needed it bring it back. There’s not another haunted house event like this around Bullard and it’s really inexpensive compared to other events like this in the area.” more
Several students attending The Brook Hill School were recently recognized for their artistic talents and abilities, bringing home a number of awards from the East Texas State Fair’s Creative Arts and Photography competitions. In total, the Brook Hill students took home “Best of Show” honors in two visual art categories at the fair’s Creative Arts contest. more
Texas State Board of Education Chairperson Donna Bahorich recently announced the appointment of State Board member Keven Ellis, a Lufkin chiropractor, to the Texas Commission on Public School Finance. The Texas Legislature authorized the commission this summer when it passed House Bill 21 during a special legislation session. more
Members of The Brook Hill School community gathered to honor one of their own, as well as hear an encouraging message from a renowned Christian author and celebrate the school’s 20th year history, at the ninth annual Founder’s Day Celebration event, held Monday, Oct. 9. To celebrate their impact on the lives of student and on the campus at The Brook Hill School, the school’s Board of Directors selected to honor Headmaster Rod Fletcher, and his wife, Heather, with the school’s 2017 Guardian Award. more
