Bullard High School students are currently searching for the perfect dress and tuxedo, as the students will make memories and dance the night away at the BHS Panther Band-sponsored 2018 BHS Winter Formal, to be held 8-11 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 13, at the Centaur Arabian Farms, located at 10271 Farm-to-Market Road 2813 in Flint. more
With the Christmas season coming and going, gifts have been given and unwrapped. This year, several families in and around the Bullard area received special gifts thanks to the Bullard High School Angel Tree project. “The response by everyone donating to the Angel Tree project this year was very overwhelming,” said Susan Paddack, BHS teacher and Angel Tree organizer. “There were a lot of blessed children through the Angel Tree, who might have not received gifts on Christmas if it wasn’t for this project. I wish I could have seen the kids’ faces on Christmas Day when they unwrapped their gifts. They were blessed, but we were definitely blessed in being able to make someone’s Christmas even more special.” more
East Texas will be one of the stops for a popular collegiate singing organization, as the Texas A&M Cadet Singers, known as “The Voice of Aggieland,” will visit the city of Tyler for an upcoming performance opportunity. According to the group’s website, the performance by the Texas A&M Cadet Singers will be held 7 p.m. Monday, Jan. 8, at Marvin United Methodist Church, located at 300 W. Erwin St, in Tyler. more
The University of Texas at Tyler today announced a tuition adjustment proposal that would help fund new student success initiatives and remediate the impact of cuts to the state-funded portion of UT Tyler’s budget. The proposal, which must be approved by the UT Board of Regents, would increases tuition for the fall 2018 and fall 2019 terms. more
The Bullard High School theater program recently transported kids of all ages through one of the most recognizable works in literature, as the company wrapped up its performances of its 2017 musical event, “Willy Wonka: The Musical,” based on the popular book, “Charlie and the Chocolate Factory,” by British author Roald Dahl. more
A motion to delay was granted in the trial of a former Brook Hill coach who was arrested and charged with Enticing a Child in 2015. Originally scheduled to take place Monday, Nov. 27, the trial of Ricky Eugene Clements, 63, also known as “Papa Ricky” to Brook Hill students and in the community, was to begin in the court of Judge Randall Rogers in the Smith County Court at Law No. 2. more
Another successful season for the Bullard Future Farmers of America Leadership Development Events teams has now come and gone, but not before representing the organization at the State level and bringing home a State competition banner. more
The face of the Bullard Panthers will be on one of the largest stages ever, as Bullard High School senior Perry Burchfield will put on the suit of Morris the Panther for a performance during an upcoming college football bowl game. With the recognition of All-American mascot that she earned while attending a cheerleading camp this summer, Burchfield will now make her way to the Sunshine State, where she will take part in a pre-game performance at the Citrus Bowl, scheduled for Monday, Jan. 1, at Camping World Stadium in Orlando, Fla. more
Tyler Junior College recently held commencement ceremonies recognizing 682 candidates for graduation for the Fall 2017 semester Friday, Dec. 8, inside the Wagstaff Gymnasium. more
