The jury trial for a former coach accused of enticing a player on his team in 2015 is expected to begin in a Smith County Courtroom next week. According to Paul Clarkston, Criminal Coordinator and Court Administrator for Smith County Court at Law 2, a continuance was granted by Judge Randall Rogers in the trial of Ricky Eugene Clements, 63, after a hearing on Monday, Feb. 5, and is now expected to begin 9 a.m. Monday, March 19. more
On Valentine’s Day, a day usually reserved for the emotion of love, the school day was occurring normally at Stoneman Douglas High School in Parkland, Fla., with students attending classes as the end of the school day approached. Tyler Aggie Moms have announced the first of what they hope will become an annual fund-raiser event. The scholarship dinner and silent auction is scheduled for Tuesday, March 27, at Hollytree Country Club, located at 6700 Hollytree Dr., in Tyler. Congressman Louie Gohmert, who serves in the US House of Representatives from Texas District 1, is slated to be the guest speaker at the event. Gohmert received his undergraduate degree from Texas A&M and is expected to share some stories from his time in Aggieland. more
