The Bullard Lady Panther varsity volleyball team paused to honor the contributions and commitment of the team’s three senior players during the annual Lady Panther Volleyball Senior Night ceremony, held Tuesday, Oct. 10, inside Panther Gymnasium. This year’s event took place in front of the capacity-filled home bleachers before the Lady Panthers took to the hardwood for a district contest against the Gladewater Lady Bears. more

Like their high school counterparts, the Bullard Middle School Panther and Lady Panther cross country teams were in action last week, as the teams traveled to take part in the District 15-4A Middle School District Cross Country Meet, held Wednesday, Oct. 11, at Gilmer Elementary School. more
After observing the annual bye week, the Bullard Panther varsity football team was back in action on the field last week, as the team loaded the bus and traveled south for a District 15-4A marquee matchup against the Palestine Wildcats Friday, Oct. 13. In addition to the contest being an important battle for both teams in District 15-4A play, the contest also served as the 2017 Homecoming game for the Wildcats. The home team Palestine was able to draw first blood in the battle against Bullard, as a Wildcat running back raced his way around the Panthers’ defensive unit for a 10-yard rushing touchdown score. Despite the early touchdown, the Wildcats were unable to complete the extra point kick, limiting their lead over the Panthers, 6-0. more
Texas bowhunters are now “nocking” as deer hunting’s early season, limited to archery equipment only, opened statewide Saturday, Sept. 29. Hunting prospects are expected to be good across the state, according to wildlife biologists with the Texas Parks and Wildlife Department (TPWD). more
