Having made up her mind last softball season on the plans after graduation, one of Bullard High School’s star athletes put pen to paper last week, selecting to sign with a local collegiate softball program. Destinee Dixon, the catcher for the Lady Panther varsity softball team, was honored by the BHS athletic department and her coaches during a signing ceremony held Wednesday, Nov. 15, inside the BHS Panther Gym. “I’m very excited about my future,” said Dixon. “It’s a great experience, and I’m glad I was able to share this with my family and friends today.” Surrounded by family, friends, coaches, and teammates, Dixon signed to become the newest member of the Tyler Junior College Apache softball team, led by head coach Maria Winn. more

A total of 13 senior members of the Brook Hill Guard varsity football team were honored during the school’s annual Senior Night ceremony, held Friday, Nov. 3, just before the team’s contest against the Cedar Hill Trinity Christian Tigers at Brook Hill’s Herrington Stadium at Young Field. Senior Brook Hill Guard varsity football players recognized at the Senior Night event included Kami Adeleye, Garrett Brown, John Dixon, Campbell Fletcher, Ian Hathaway, Jeremiah McGowen, Sam Nechi, Harold Ofuokwu, Greyson Priestner, Mac Rose, Abed Taha, Hood Taylor, and Colby White. more

Bullard Panthers 25, Kilgore Bulldogs 56, FINAL BHS: 19 0 6 0 - 25 KHS: 0 21 28 7 - 56 For the final contest in the 2017 regular season, the Bullard Panther varsity football team loaded the buses and traveled to take on their last Conference 4A Division 1 District 9 opponent, the Kilgore Bulldogs, Friday, Nov. 10, at Kilgore High School. The contest between Bullard and Kilgore held playoff implications for both teams, with the victorious team claiming a playoff spot. more
Back in action on the golf course last week was the Bullard Panther junior varsity golf team, taking on the tough field of varsity competitors at the Lindale High School Golf Tournament, held Tuesday, Nov. 7, at the Garden Valley Golf Club in Lindale. more
