A former Brook Hill Lady Guard volleyball star recently picked up one of the highest recognitions of her career in the sport for her efforts on the court with her collegiate team this season. Samantha Anderson, Brook Hill Class of 2015 alumna, was recently presented with the recognition of Southland Conference Player of the Year, highlighting her junior season with the University of Central Arkansas (Conway, Ark.) Sugar Bears volleyball team. more
Bullard Panthers 43, Troup Tigers 59, FINAL BHS: 9 19 6 9 - 43 THS: 17 12 13 17 - 59 Resuming their 2017-2018 schedule last week was the Bullard Panther varsity basketball team, as the team traveled the short distance to Troup to battle against the Troup Tigers Tuesday, Nov. 28, at Troup High School. In the first quarter, the home team Troup was able to start the game off with a strong push offensively, as the Tigers took control of the contest’s momentum with 17 points, compared to the nine points collected by the Panthers. more

In their fourth matchup at the Saltillo Basketball Tournament Friday, Nov. 17, the Lady Panthers battled against the host team, the Saltillo Lady Lions. more

Bullard Panthers 57, Frankston Indians 37, FINAL FHS: 12 8 11 6 - 37 BHS: 9 23 15 10 - 57 The Bullard Panther varsity basketball team was back on the hardwood recently, as the team played the part of host for a non-district matchup against the Frankston Indians Friday, Nov. 17, at Bullard’s Panther Gym. In the first quarter of play, the home team Panthers and the visiting Indians battled for control of the flow of momentum to begin the contest. Frankston was able to rally their way to an early lead, scoring a total of 12 points, while Bullard netted nine points. more
Having made up her mind last softball season on the plans after graduation, one of Bullard High School’s star athletes put pen to paper last week, selecting to sign with a local collegiate softball program. Destinee Dixon, the catcher for the Lady Panther varsity softball team, was honored by the BHS athletic department and her coaches during a signing ceremony held Wednesday, Nov. 15, inside the BHS Panther Gym. “I’m very excited about my future,” said Dixon. “It’s a great experience, and I’m glad I was able to share this with my family and friends today.” Surrounded by family, friends, coaches, and teammates, Dixon signed to become the newest member of the Tyler Junior College Apache softball team, led by head coach Maria Winn. more
