For fans of Bullard High School and The Brook Hill School sports, the countdown has begun for the annual Bullard Banner News’ Fall Sports Preview. The annual fall sports special section for BBN not only includes a schedule, team pictures, and a special story regarding what will happen on the gridiron for the Bullard Panthers and Brook Hill Guard, but will also include the same for the Bullard Lady Panther and Brook Hill Lady Guard varsity volleyball teams. Also included in the 2017 Fall Sports Preview will be pictures, schedules, and rosters for other Bullard and Brook Hill fall sports teams, such as cross country and fishing teams. more
The start of the 2017 regular season for the Lady Panthers is less than a week away. The teams look ready to scratch and claw their way to victory against the schedule of tough opponents thanks to recently held volleyball camps. The first camp was the Lady Panther volleyball team camp, filled with potential junior varsity and varsity players, held Monday through Wednesday, July 10-12, inside Bullard High School’s gymnasium. more
The Bullard Panther football program will prowl their way back onto the gridiron next week, as the team’s two-a-day football schedule has been announced. To begin the summer schedule, the Bullard High School athletic department will host an informational parent and athlete meeting for all high school football athletes 9 a.m. Saturday, Aug 5, inside the BHS cafeteria. At the meeting, Bullard ISD athletic director and Panther varsity head football coach Scott Callaway will discuss his department’s policy, procedures, requirements, and answer questions. more
The sport of baseball is typically synonymous with the long hot days of the summer months, as talented players of all ages step up to the plate and swing for the fences. For the Bullard Panther baseball program, there was no shortage of talented players on the diamond this summer during the program’s annual Panther Baseball Summer Camp, held Monday through Thursday, June 12-15 at the Bullard High School Baseball Field. more
As the 2017-2018 school year approaches, The Brook Hill School will play the part of host for two major sporting events honoring veterans and their service and sacrifice, as the school prepares for the third annual Tyler Ford/Brook Hill American Warrior weekend. Announced the late May, the Brook Hill Guard varsity football team will make their season debut at 2017 Tyler Ford/Brook Hill American Warrior Bowl football game, to be held Saturday, Sept. 2, Brook Hill’s Young Field at Herrington Stadium. more
The Brook Hill Guard football program did not take a break during the months of summer vacation. Instead, several athletes took on the task of competing at the TAPPS State 7-on-7 Football Tournament, held Friday and Saturday, June 23-24, at All Saints Episcopal School in Fort Worth. more
Several local young golfers hit the links to face off against the tough competition at the North Texas Professional Golf Association Junior Tour event, held Monday, July 17, at Emerald bay Country Club in Bullard. The leader for the local area golfers in the Boys 15-18 category was Jensen Smith, of Bullard, swinging his way tie for ninth place to a score of 79. more
The new season for the Brook Hill Lady Guard volleyball program will officially start in less than two weeks, as the team’s 2017 schedule was recently announced. In the 2016 season, the Lady Guard varsity volleyball team achieved an overall record of 20-13, 3-3 in district play, and a second place finish in the district. The team was knocked out in the first round of the playoffs by the Dallas Christian Lady Chargers. To tune up for the upcoming season, the Lady Guard will face off against Frankston in a scrimmage match Friday, Aug. 4, in Frankston. more
Bullard High School’s Panther Stadium will be the scene of a community-wide pep rally event, as the school prepares to host Meet the Panthers, scheduled for 6:30-8 p.m. Friday, Aug. 11. more
