Bullard Independent School District recently made an announcement concerning the filling of principals at two of its campuses for the 2017-2018 school year.
On Wednesday, May 17, Bullard ISD Superintendent Todd Schneider appointed Kenley Dover as the new Bullard Middle School principal, as well as Jodie Albritton as the new Bullard Intermediate School principal.
The principal vacancies at BIS and BMS were created after the appointment of former BIS principal Amy Bickerstaff as Bullard ISD’s Director of Teaching and Learning, as well as former BMS principal Cheryl Hendrix as the Director of Human Resources and Special Programs, during the Thursday, May 11 regular scheduled meeting.
“I am excited to announce these appointments as they continue to support Bullard ISD’s vision of being the lighthouse district in East Texas,” said Todd Schneider, Bullard ISD Superintendent. “Their experience and enthusiasm will continue to serve our district through innovative education opportunities for students in Bullard ISD.”
A 1996 BHS graduate, Albritton has worked in education for 17 years. She has been a teacher, assistant principal, principal, and most recently served as the Assistant Director of Teaching & Learning at Bullard ISD.
Albritton received a Bachelor Degree and Master Degree in education from the University of Texas at Tyler. She has been married to Scott Albritton for 16 years and has a daughter Avery, 10, a fourth grader at Bullard Elementary School.
“Many things have changed since I was a student in Bullard ISD,” said Albritton, in a released statement from Bullard ISD. “However, one thing that remains the same is the pride you feel when you walk through these halls. I feel honored to serve the students, their families, and the staff of Bullard Intermediate School in the coming year.”
Dover has been employed with Bullard ISD for 6 years in numerous roles to include teacher, coach, Bullard Middle School athletic coordinator, and assistant principal at Bullard Middle and High Schools.
An East Texas native, Dover received a Bachelor Degree from Stephen F. Austin University in Nacogdoches, as well as a Master Degree in educational administration from Lamar University. Dover has been married to Lacey Dover for almost 8 years and has 3 children: Dustin, 16; Emma, 5; and Hallie, 3.

The 2017-2018 Bullard ISD school year begins on Wednesday, Aug. 23.
