Registration for students entering Pre-Kindergarten and Kindergarten classes beginning in the 2017-2018 school year at Bullard Early Childhood Campus is currently underway, as the school will continue to register students from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Wednesday and Thursday, April 19-20, at the BECC campus.

The campus began the registration event in preparation for the 2017-2018 school year on Tuesday, as a way to better prepare for the upcoming school year in several aspects, according to BECC principal Michelle Hurst.

“We are trying to help prepare parents, students, and ourselves for the upcoming school year,” said Hurst. “The quicker we know how our numbers for next school year are going to look, the quicker we can get our classes set, assign teachers, get supplies purchased for those students, and to be ready.”

For parents wanting to register their child into BECC Pre-K classes for 2017-2018, the child must be four years of age on or before Thursday, Sept. 1, 2017 and must live within the boundaries of the Bullard Independent School District.

Students may qualify for the BECC Pre-K program if they are homeless, are non-English speaking, have a parents or guardian on active military duty, or through their parents’ income. For income eligibility, parents must provide proof of income for the entire household by bringing two of the most recent paystubs or their group eligibility number for the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) or Temporary Assistance for Needy Families.

Parents of students four years of age may pay tuition to attend the class if they do not meet the qualifications. The deposit for the class is $100, and tuition costs are $400 per month for 10 months.

To sign up students for BECC Pre-K, parents must bring a water or electric bill with the parent’s name and current physical address, a driver’s license with a name and correct physical address, a certified copy of the child’s birth certificate, a social security card, and a current immunization record.

If the parent’s names are not on the water or electric bill, the parents will be required to go to the Bullard ISD Administration office to complete the necessary paperwork before registering their child.

Parents wanting to register their children for Kindergarten for the 2017-2018 school year must have a child that will be five years of age on or before Thursday, Sept. 1, 2017 and must live within the boundaries of Bullard ISD.
