The award-winning Bullard Belles drill team will bring back a popular fundraising event this month, allowing the Bullard community an opportunity to drive in style, as the organization is partnering with Bill McCrae Ford and Lincoln in Jacksonville for the third annual Luxury Lincoln Test Drive Event 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 23, in the parking lot of Bullard High School.

During the event, the Belles will be able to receive up to an $8,000 maximum donation from Bill McCrae Ford and Lincoln, matching the amount the organization has received after the event in the two previous years.

“We are very excited about this fundraising opportunity for the Bullard Belles,” said Renee Majors, Bullard Belles spokesperson. “The Belles have hosted this event for the past three years and it’s always been a success. We called and asked if we could partner with Bill McCrae once again, which they quickly agreed to do. We are so happy to be partnering with such a great business to allow Bullard residents the chance to drive a luxury vehicle, as well as raise some money for a great organization.”

Bill McCrae Ford and Lincoln will bring five to six vehicles to the event to be driven by community members 18 years and older with a valid driver’s license. The organization will receive credit for each eligible person signing up to drive, whether they get behind the wheel or not. Drives will last a maximum of five minutes.

In order for the Bullard Belles drill team to achieve the maximum $8,000 donation from Bill McCrae Ford and Lincoln, the organization needs a total of 400 drivers to participate.

Similar as in years past, the first 200 test drivers at the Lincoln Test Drive Event will receive a variety of free gifts from Bill McCrae Ford and Lincoln.

“This is a great fundraiser for the Belles,” said Majors. “It’s one of the biggest fundraisers I’ve been a part of while with the organization. We are excited and hope many members of the Bullard community will come out and support us by test driving some great vehicles. This is a free event, no charges, hassles, or annoying sales pitches. We work hard every year to make this the most successful fundraiser for the Belles each year.”

The proceeds raised by the Bullard Belles at the event will help to offset travel costs during the organization’s contest season, as well as the drill team’s trip to New York City in February.

The Bullard Belles drill team is under the direction of head director Shelly Johnston and assistant director Cecilee Walker.
