BH golfers claim top team, individual finishes at TAPPS 5A District 2 District Golf Tournament

The Brook Hill Guard and Lady Guard varsity golf teams took on the tough competition on the links last week, as the team competed at the TAPPS 5A District 2 District Golf Tournament, held Monday, April 10, at Eagle’s Bluff Country Club in Bullard.

Brook Hill Guard:

The Brook Hill Guard varsity golf team proved to be the toughest team on the course at the TAPPS 5A District 2 District Golf Tournament, taking home first place and was crowned as the District Champions with a team total score of 324, defeating the competition from several schools such as Frisco Legacy, All Saints, Grace Community, Carrollton Prince of Peace, and Dallas Christian.

The Guard varsity golf team was led to the District Championship by the swing of Jacob Yeager, finishing tied for third place with a score of 77.

Other Brook Hill varsity golf team members competing at the TAPPS 5A District 2 District Golf Tournament included Logan Mimms, placing fifth with a score of 78; Hood Taylor, with a score of 84; Conner Livesay, with a score of 85; and Colton Drennan, with a score of 86.

The Brook Hill varsity golf program also had a total of five individual golfers competing at the TAPPS 5A District 2 District Golf Tournament, including Patrick Olmedo, with a score of 84; James Shipp, with a score of 84; Jack Berry, with a score of 94; Greg Goates, with a score of 97; and Walker Steele, with a score of 104.

Brook Hill Lady Guard:

The Brook Hill Lady Guard varsity golf team also had a strong showing at the TAPPS 5A District 2 District Golf Tournament, placing second with a team total score of 438, defeating the competition from All Saints, Carrollton Prince of Peace, and Frisco Legacy.

Emma French’s strong putting ability allowed her to claim the first place individual finish and District Champion recognition, finishing the event with a score of 71.

Other members of the Brook Hill Lady Guard varsity golf team competing at the TAPPS 5A District 2 District Golf Tournament included Lori Wise, with a score of 112; Morgan Carpenter, with a score of 120; Sydney McNeel, with a score of 135; and Kaylee Lambert, with a score of 140.

Both teams will advance to the TAPPS 5A Regional Golf Tournament, to be held Monday, April 24, at The Golf Club at Fossil Creek in Fort Worth.
