BISD athletes to take part in summer strength and conditioning, volleyball camps next week

With the summer break from school now officially in full swing, athletes are preparing for opportunities to prepare for next season through upcoming sports camps held by the Bullard Independent School District’s athletic department.

Bullard Panther Summer Strength and Conditioning Camp:

Athletes in a number of sports programs at Bullard ISD will soon take part in the annual Bullard Panther Summer Strength and Conditioning Camp, to be held Mondays through Thursdays starting Monday, June 11, at Bullard High School’s Panther Stadium.

Weeks of the Bullard Panther Summer Strength and Conditioning Camp will include June 11-14, June 18-21, June 25-28, July 9-12, July 16-19, and July 23-26. The camp will not meet the week of Independence Day (Monday through Thursday, July 2-5).

During the Monday through Thursday workouts, male athletes in 10th through 12th grades will take part from 7:15-9 a.m., while males in seventh through ninth grades will participate from 8:15-9:45 a.m. Additionally, female athletes from seventh through 12th grades will work out from 9-10 a.m.

The Panther weight room facility will be open for Bullard athletes and alumni starting 9-11 a.m. Monday through Thursday, June 4-7. The weight room will also be open to athletes and alumni from 5-6:30 p.m. Mondays through Thursdays during the camp schedule, as well as 7:30-9 a.m. on Fridays during the summer.

There is no registration fee for the annual Bullard Panther Summer Strength and Conditioning Camp.

Lady Panther Volleyball:

Additionally, the Bullard Lady Panther volleyball program will host its annual summer camp Monday through Thursday, June 11-14, inside the Bullard Middle School gymnasium.

Campers will participate in a total of two sessions, including Session One for athletes entering seventh and eighth grades from 9 a.m. – 12 p.m., and Session Two for third through sixth graders from 1-3 p.m. All grade levels will be for the 2018-2019 school year.

According to the camp flyer, Lady Panther varsity volleyball head coach, the purpose of the camp is to learn basic individual and team skills such as passing, setting, hitting, serving, and defense.

Athletes are asked to wear appropriate clothing, including no jeans, jean shorts, halter tops, or spaghetti strap shirts. Kneepads are recommended for athletes participating.

The Session One camp will cost $60, while the Session Two camp will cost $50, including the cost for a camp T-shirt.
