Bullard CC teams claim several top finishes at American Warrior Run

The Bullard Panther and Lady Panther varsity, junior varsity, and middle school cross country programs were back on the trails last week, as the teams traveled the short distance to The Brook Hill School to compete in the second annual American Warrior Run Cross Country Meet Saturday, Sept. 2.

Panther Varsity:

The Bullard Panther varsity cross country team was able to navigate down the race's path well, taking home the first place team finish with a team total score of 65 points, defeating teams from local schools such as Canton, Whitehouse, and Sabine.  

Leading the way for the Panther varsity cross country team at the American Warrior Run was Hayden Jeffus, crossing the finish line in second place with a time of 18:47.28.

Other members of the Panther varsity cross country team competing in the American Warrior Run included Harrison Meador, placing fourth with a time of 19:12.41; Connor Hanna, placing 11th with a time of 19:58.94; Caleb Carmichael, placing 13th with a time of 10:05.54; Nick Calhoon, placing 35th with a time of 22:03.75; Jordan Christopher, placing 36th with a time of 22:04:00; and Zach Arroyo, placing 38th with a time of 22:08.00.

Lady Panther Varsity:

Not to be outdone by the boys varsity team, the Bullard Lady Panther varsity cross country team also turned in a solid effort at the American Warrior Run, placing first as a team with a team total score of 42 points, outrunning the competition from other schools such as Whitehouse, Sabine, and Grace Community.

Lady Panther runner Emily Berry prowled her way down the course and across the finish line in first place, finishing with a time of 13:30.98.

Other Lady Panther varsity cross country runners competing in the American Warrior Run included Emilee Lewis, placing seventh with a time of 14:27.41; Rebekah Brasher, placing ninth with a time of 14:44.29; Hanna Haning, placing 12th with a time of 14:55.57; Erin Berry, placing 13th with a time of 14:56.25; Nicole Jones, placing 14th with a time of 15:03.83; and Keely Linebaugh, placing 15th with a time of 15:22.35.

Panther Junior Varsity:

The Bullard Panther junior varsity cross country team also saw action at the American Warrior Run Saturday, as the team secured a third place team finish overall with a score of 95 points, outpacing the competition from other competing school such as Sabine, Alba-Golden, and Brownsboro.

Zachary Van Winkle proved to be the speediest runner for the Panther junior varsity cross country team at the American Warrior Run, taking home eighth place with a time of 23:30.54.

Other Panther junior varsity runners competing in the American Warrior Run included Joseph Woolard, placing 16th with a time of 24:49.02; Walker Stegall, placing 19th with a time of 25:38.58; Trinton Dublin, placing 21st with a time of 25:50.28; Colin Anderson, placing 31st with a time of 27:31.06; Riley Younger, placing 37th with a time of 28:35.94; and Logan Reichert, placing 38th with a time of 29:41.76.

Lady Panther Junior Varsity:

Similar to the Bullard teams before them, the Bullard Lady Panther junior varsity cross country team scratched and clawed their way around the outlines trail at the American Warrior Run, claiming a first place team finish with a team total score of 36 points, allowing them to hold back the runners from schools such as Grace Community, Brownsboro, and Canton.

Alex Breedlove nearly outran the entire field of runners in the girls' junior varsity race at the American Warrior Run, as she received second place with a time of 15:19.34.

Other Lady Panther junior varsity runners competing in the American Warrior Run included Cami Younger, placing sixth with a time of 16:35.08; Julehissa Galvan, placing eighth with a time of 16:47.60; Payton Brown, placing ninth with a time of 16:48.86; Erin Monreal, placing 11th with a time of 17:04.61; Molly Martin, placing 20th with a time of 19:23.02; Abbie Denman, placing 21st with a time of 19:23.13; Sierra Stevenson, placing 22nd with a time of 19:32.34; Carleigh Graybill, placing 23rd with a time of 19:55.30; Addison Barnes, placing 25th with a time of 20:07.93; Perry Burchfield, placing 26th with a time of 20:15.24; and Destiny Stephenson, placing 29th with a time of 20:22.04.

Panther Middle School:

The Bullard Panther middle school cross country team made its season debut, as the team participated in the festivities of Saturday's American Warrior Run, running away with a fifth place team finish with a score of 145 points, lapping the competition schools such as Troup, Mineola, and Canton.

The fastest runner on the Panther middle school cross country team was Aidan Skanes, collecting an eighth place finish with a time of 13:29.89.

Other Panther middle school cross country runners competing in the American Warrior Run included Kaiden Schneider, placing 19th with a time of 14:32.63; Carter Paddack, placing 22nd with a time of 14:37.12; Caden Bryant, placing 40th with a time of 15:53.68; Will Wright, placing 56th with a time of 17:25.27; Benjamin Edmonson, placing 70th with a time of 18:30.72; Jackson Bracken, placing 71st with a time of 18:34.44; Connor McCoy, placing 76th with a time of 19:02.95; Randy Jowers, placing 77th with a time of 19:09.71; Bryan Lewis, placing 78th with a time of 19:11.60; Calvin McCoy, placing 86th with a time of 20:47.12; Brycen Hertel, placing 88th with a time of 20:51.70; Henry Pudwill, placing 91st with a time of 21:28.05; Jacob King, placing 99th with a time of 23:09.92; Trey Harris, placing 100th with a time of 23:17.26; Ezrah Johnson, placing 101st with a time of 23:20.49; Caleb Hand, placing 104th with a time of 24:06.14; Izack Owens, placing 105th with a time of 24:49.62; and Matthew Belinner, placing 106ht with a time of 25:24.97.

Lady Panther Middle School:

Also making their season debut at the American Warrior Run Saturday was the Bullard Lady Panther middle school cross country team. The team was able to place fourth overall with a team total score of 115 points, outracing the competition from schools such as Mineola, Cumberland Academy, and Sabine.

Lucille Moore led the pack of Lady Panther middle school runners at the American Warrior Run with her eighth place finish with a time of 14:44.49.

Other members of the lady Panther middle school cross country team racing at the American Warrior Run included Maddie Carlile, placing 28th with a time of 16:52.69; Maddy Roberts, placing 30th with a time of 17:13.67; Karleigh Hagen, placing 33rd with a time of 17:31.14; Brooklyn Stanley, placing 55th with a time of 20:38.11; Nevaeh Mueller, placing 68th with a time of 24:16.11; and Amber Cothran, placing 69th with a time of 24:23.27.
