Bullard XC prepares for upcoming District meet

The Bullard Panther and Lady Panther junior varsity and varsity cross country teams raced their way back onto the trails last week, as the teams loaded the bus and traveled to compete in the Lindale Eagle Invitational Cross Country Meet, held Thursday, Oct. 5, at Garden Valley Golf Course.

Panther Varsity:

The Bullard Panther varsity cross country team competed well at the Lindale Eagle Invitational Cross Country Meet, bringing home a respectable seventh place team finish with a team total score of 183 points, outrunning the competition from local schools such as Tatum, Brownsboro, and Edgewood.

The leader of the pack for the Panther varsity cross country team was Hayden Jeffus, as he prowled his way around the course and finished 11th overall with a time of 17:31.66.

Other Panther varsity cross country runners competing at the Lindale Eagle Invitational Cross Country Meet included Harrison Meador, placing 40th with a time of 18:30.82; Connor Hanna, placing 70th with a time of 18:35.46; Caleb Carmichael, placing 114th with a time of 19:14.38; Zach Arroyo, placing 183rd with a time of 20:22.47; and Nick Calhoon, placing 266th with a time of 21:36.69.

Lady Panther Varsity:

Like the Panther varsity team, the Bullard Lady Panther varsity cross country team was able to finish as one of the top schools at the Lindale Eagle Invitational Cross Country Meet, securing an eighth place team finish with a team total score of 280 points, outpacing teams from Palestine, Tatum, and Edgewood.

Emily Berry pounced her way past the competition at the Lindale Eagle Invitational Cross Country Meet, leading the Lady Panther varsity cross country team by claiming a 21st place finish with a time of 14:40.46.

Other Lady Panther varsity cross country team members competing at the Lindale Eagle Invitational Cross Country Meet included Emilee Lewis, placing 57th with a time of 15:58.01; Rebekah Brasher, placing 64th with a time of 16:25.22; Erin Berry, placing 65th with a time of 16:26.67; Alex Breedlove, placing 70th with a time of 16:37.19; and Keely Linebaugh, placing 71st with a time of 16:38.73.

Panther Junior Varsity:

The Bullard Panther junior varsity cross country team raced their way to a strong 13th place team finish at the Lindale Eagle Invitational Cross Country Meet, finishing with a team total score of 375 points, allowing the team to place higher than teams from Longview, Sabine, and Whitehouse.

The Panthers were led by the speed of Zachary Van Winkle throughout the course of the Lindale Eagle Invitational Cross Country Meet, placing 83rd with a time of 21:58.33.

Other Panther junior varsity cross country runners racing in the Lindale Eagle Invitational Cross Country Meet included Walker Stegall, placing 92nd with a time of 22:55.91; Joseph Woolard, placing 95th with a time of 23:13.77; Colin Anderson, placing 97th with a time of 23:50.32; Trenton Dublin, placing 99th with a time of 24:07.33; Logan Reichert, finishing with a time of 25:42.02; and Jackson Fath, with a time of 26:52.38.

Lady Panther Junior Varsity:

The final team to compete at the Lindale Eagle Invitational Cross Country Meet was the Bullard Lady Panther junior varsity cross country meet, as the team placed ninth overall with a team total score of 267 points, finishing higher in the final standings than teams representing Wills Point, Pine Tree, and John Tyler.

Payton Brown led the Lady Panther junior varsity cross country team with her quickness at the Lindale Eagle Invitational Cross Country Meet, placing 32nd with a time of 17:44.44.

Other Lady Panther junior varsity cross country team members taking part in the Lindale Eagle Invitational Cross Country Meet included Julehissa Galvan, placing 39th with a time of 18:05.94; Cami Younger, placing 45th with a time of 18:24.06; Addison Barnes, placing 72nd with a time of 20:32.45; Haley Day, placing 79th with a time of 21:22.29; Aspyn Grossman, placing 80th with a time of 21:23.37; and Caleigh Graybill, placing 21:49.31.

Next meet: Wednesday, Oct. 11 - Class 4A's Region 2 District 15 Meet at Gilmer Elementary School.
