Funeral services for Jimmy Lee Bain, age 70, of Bullard were held Monday, April 2, 2018 at First Baptist Church of Bullard, with personal friends Dr. Chuck Biscoe, Rev. Scott Brown, and Rev. Roy Thoene, officiating.

Burial followed the service at Flint Cemetery, under the direction of Boren-Conner Funeral Home in Bullard.

Jimmy was born October 9, 1947 in Tyler to the late Joe H. and Doris (Clyburn) Bain, and lived his entire life on the family property in Bullard.

He was a lifelong member of Flint Community Church, and was a member of Goodfellow’s Sunday School Class of Central Baptist Church of Jacksonville.

Jim and Mitzi Heller were married October 30, 1988. They were blessed with many loving nieces and nephews who were their children.

Jim graduated from Bullard High School, Tyler Junior College, and attended Sam Houston State University. He was an owner of family operated Glo-Flame Propane in Bullard and a lifelong cattleman.

He was an active member and supporter of various local FFA Chapters and was an honorary member of the Bullard FFA. He was Chairman of Smith County FSA, Texas & Southwestern Cattle Raisers Assn., American Quarter Horse Assn., Texas Brahman Assn., East Texas State Fair Board of Directors, and member of Bullard ISD Wall of Honor, and past President of Flint Cemetery Association.

Jim was dearly loved by all whose lives he touched. His many nieces and nephews knew him as Bain-Bain.

He was preceded in death by his parents Joe & Doris Bain, brother Tommy R. Bain, and brother in law Mark Heller.

He is survived by his wife, Mitzi Bain of Bullard; sisters JoAnn and Jimmy McKeethan and Jan and Jerry Hill, all of Bullard; sisters-in-law Marcy and Stan Huntsinger, of Waco, and Linda Heller, of Weimar; brother-in-law Mike and Jenny Heller, of Yoakum; nephews Greg and Nancy McKeethan, Scott and Amy McKeethan, Justin and Rene Hill, David and Lynn Heller, Rodney and Dorothy Heller, Zachary and Amber Brown, and Clay Heller; nieces Juliann Hill, Amy Brandt, and Allison Habada; great-nephews Matthew, Braydon McKeethan, Drew McKeethan, Ryan Johnson, Cole Heller, Chase Heller, Brendan Brandt, Dawson Brandt, and Caleb Habada; great-nieces Sara McKeethan, Kylie McKeethan, Jacey Hill, Lexie Hill, Rylee Heller, McKenzie Heller, and Kadence Brown, Avery Brown, and Alexis Brown.

Serving as pallbearers were Greg McKeethan, Scott McKeethan, Justin Hill, Zachary Brown, David Heller, Rodney Heller, Laurentino Hernandez, and Keith Beam. Honorary pallbearers included Elmer Ellis, Stu Dildine, Billy James Newburn, Sen. Robert Nichols, Dr. Evans Smith, Dr. Joe Prudhomme, Jay Davis, Kenneth Threlkeld, Billy Powell, Mike Heller, Don Forester, Johnny Copeland, Weldon McFarland, Bob Leavine, Jim Pumphrey, employees of Glo-Flame Propane, and members of Goodfellow’s Sunday School Class.
