Local football teams get jump start to new campaigns through 7-on-7 league action

With the beginning of the 2017 high school football season quickly approaching, several local athletes are putting in the work during their summer vacation to become better by competing against other local athletes in the annual High School Football 7-on-7 summer games.

The local 7-on-7 football league has already had three days filled with games this summer, with another two days planned in the month of June, with all games held at Bullard High School’s Panther Stadium.

On Monday, June 12, the Bullard Panther junior varsity “2” team will take on the Brook Hill Guard junior varsity team at 5 p.m. along the north side of the turf, followed by Brook Hill JV versus Frankston JV at 5:30 p.m. on the north turf, Bullard JV “2” against Tyler Lee JV at 5:30 p.m. on the south turf, Bullard JV “1” versus Jacksonville JV at 6 p.m. on the north turf, and Bullard JV “1” against the All Saints varsity team at 7 p.m. on the south turf.

Varsity team play on Monday, June 12 will begin with the Brook Hill Guard varsity football team against Jacksonville at 6 p.m. on the south turf, followed by Bullard varsity versus Bishop T.K. Gorman at 7 p.m. on the north turf, and Bullard against Brook Hill at 7:30 p.m. on the north turf.

The final day of 7-on-7 football action will be Monday, June 19 beginning with a number of junior varsity contests, including Bullard JV “2” taking on Gorman JV at 5 p.m. on the north turf, Bullard JV “2” versus Gorman JV at 5:30 p.m. on the south turf, Brook Hill JV against Jacksonville JV at 6 p.m. on the north turf, Bullard JV “1” versus Tyler Lee JV at6 6 p.m. on the south turf, and Brook Hill JV against Bullard JV “1” at 7:30 p.m. on the south turf.

For varsity action on Monday June 19, the schedule will include Bullard versus Jacksonville at 6:30 p.m. on the north turf, Brook Hill against Gorman at 6:30 p.m. on the south turf, and Bullard versus Brook Hill 7 p.m. on the north turf.
