Services for Martha Langford, 78, of Bullard, were held on Friday, April 7, 2017 at Stewart Family Funeral Home with Rev. Tom Terry officiating.
Burial followed the service at Bullard Cemetery, under the direction of Stewart Family Funeral Home.
Mrs. Langford passed away on Monday, April 3, 2017 in Bullard. She was born on February 16, 1939, near Blossom, Texas.
She served as Bullard Emergency Management Coordinator for five years, as well as helped found the Red, White and Blue Festival. She served as its first chairperson and several years thereafter. She was active in the Christmas in the Park event for several years.
Martha was the wife of former Bullard mayor, B.J. Langford and the daughter of the late Clifford Morgan and Mary Young Morgan.
She served as President of the Bullard Area Chamber of Commerce for two years and was selected Woman of the Year in 2002.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husbands, Bobby J. Langford and John Ralph Murphree; two brothers, A.C. Morgan and Henry Ronald Morgan, and one sister, Dana Jane Davidson.
Mrs. Langford is survived by her loving family including her brother, David Morgan and wife Sylvia of Barry; five children: Carl Langford, and wife, Dale, of Seagoville; David Langford, and wife, Denise, of Bullard; Cathy Sharp, and husband, James, of Plano; John Murphree, and wife, Kathy, of New Harmony; and Donny Murphree, and wife, Deanna, of Tyler; as well as seven grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren, and numerous nephews, nieces and cousins.
Pallbearers were Gary Don Lewis, Johnny Fields, Craig Gardner, Chris Forgy, Jimmy Forgy and Daniel Gardner.
