Thomas William “Bill” Young, 53, passed away at his home in Bullard, Texas on February 2, 2018.
Born in San Antonio, on May 3, 1964, he graduated Robert E. Lee High School in Tyler, Class of 1982. He then studied Computer Science at Tyler Junior College.
Bill lived in Tyler and Bullard and spent the entirety of his working career at Atlas Credit Company, Inc. until his retirement in 2013, when he entered the commercial real estate business.
He was a Baptist and last attended Colonial Hills Baptist Church. Bill will especially be remembered for his love of sports, including football, softball and baseball. He, himself, spent many hours on the football and softball fields and possessed exceptional skill in both sports.
Bill’s survivors include his parents, Thomas A. and Ruth Ann Young, Bullard; son, Matthew “Blake” Young and wife Virginia, of Bullard; son, Ryan William Young and wife Alyssa, of Tyler; daughter, Brianna Laurel Young, of Tyler; grandsons, Zander Cloud Woodfin, Thomas Louis Young and Aiden McKinley Young, of Bullard; and nephew, Waylen Thomas Hardy and wife Jan, of Nashville, Tenn. Bill was preceded in death by his much adored sister, Tisha Hardy, in 1993.
A visitation was held on Friday, February 9, at Stewart Family Funeral Home in Tyler. Funeral services, officiated by Rev. Sam Deville, were held on Saturday, February 10, in the Stewart Family Funeral Home Chapel. A private burial followed the service at Cathedral in The Pines Cemetery.
Honorary pallbearers included Tony Hardy, Brandon Mays, Eric Magee, Gregg Magee, Michael Althide, and Donald Love.
