The Texas Department of Transportation announced recently announced traffic counts would be conducted for approximately one month at a total of 6,400 locations throughout the Tyler District.
Traffic data will be collected 24 hours a day on all system roadways¬ through April 26. Motorists will notice road tubes as the counts are being conducted.
Contract personnel are collecting the data on behalf of TxDOT’s Transportation Planning and Programming Division.
TxDOT’s Tyler District includes Anderson, Cherokee, Gregg, Henderson, Rusk, Smith, Van Zandt, and Wood counties.
The Texas Department of Transportation is responsible for maintaining 80,000 miles of road and for supporting aviation, rail, and public transportation across the state.
