Services for Van Solon Campbell, 80, of Bullard, were held on Sunday, September 24, 2017 at Stewart Family Funeral Home with Clay Thornton and Larry McClenny officiating.
Burial followed the service at Bullard Cemetery, under the direction of Stewart Family Funeral Home.
Mr. Campbell passed away Thursday, September 21 in Tyler. He was born March 16, 1937 in Quemado, TX to J.C. and Leona Campbell.
Van was a member of Rice Road Church of Christ. He graduated from White Oak High School and proudly served as a United States Marine.
Van was preceded in death by his parents; his beloved wife and mother of his children, Linda Jean Whitaker Campbell; his brother, Ray Campbell; and a great-grandson, Blake Ryan Lewis.
He is survived by his loving family including his wife, Norma Janice Campbell; his daughter, Christy and husband Jim Stanley, of Bullard; son, Jason Campbell and wife Cindy, of Bullard; grandchildren, Joshua and Jessica Stanley of Fred, TX; Trisha and J.T. Lewis of Bullard, TX; Jacob Stanley of Austin, TX; Jessica Stanley of Bullard, TX; Sarah Campbell and Katie Campbell both of Bullard, TX; great-granddaughters, Madison Lewis of Bullard, TX and Zaylie Sheffield of Fred, TX; sisters, Dortha and husband Ronald Rife; Lucille Vascoe; Tommie Greer; Charlsie and husband Gaylyn Kirk; Jeannee and husband Wayne Bates; brother, Gary Campbell; as well as all of his siblings families.
Van was also survived by his step-daughters Beth and Dave Loureiro; Martha and Brian McDearmon; Rhonda and John Wilson; Sabra and Steven Schray; as well as all his step-daughters’ families.
Pallbearers were Joshua Stanley, Jacob Stanley, J.T. Lewis, Christian Moore, Curtis Smith, and Kevin Hester. Honorary pallbearers were Van’s Campbell Custom Homes family.
