Dunkin Donuts Announces Free Coffee for Teachers on September 1

The quick service restaurant announced the change on its official website and social media, writing, “Visions of back-to-school dancing in your head? Dunkin’ Donuts is creating the ideal way to say thank you in honour of teachers and all they do for their students and communities.”

“Because our local educators are crushing it in the classroom every day, we’re inviting them to a free Medium Hot or Iced Coffee on Thursday, September 1.” Who deserves a coffee break more? “We’re proud to recognise educators for their passion and dedication, and to help fuel their go at the start of a new school year with a coffee on us,” the statement continued.

The chain also announced the return of customer-favourite fall flavours, including the Pumpkin Flavor Swirl, saying, “Just in time for fall, teachers can kick-off the school year and enjoy the perfect pour with the return of our fan-favourite fall flavours.” For a taste of fall in every sip, try our Pumpkin Flavor Swirl in Hot or Iced Coffee!”

How to Avail of the Offer

Any teacher can go to one of the participating locations and get a free coffee. However, some restrictions have been imposed. You can only get one free drink per teacher, so you can’t get coffee for the entire school staff.

The offer is only valid on September 1st, or while supplies last. So expect long lines at the store and hope they don’t run out of coffee before your turn. Cold brew and nitro cold brew are also not included in the free offer.

Furthermore, the chain has announced that the offer will not be available in some non-participating locations. These cities include Metro New York City as well as Lancaster, Harrisburg, York, Johnstown, Altoona, Wilkes-Barre, and Scranton in Pennsylvania.

The Chain will also Open its Raise A Cup to Teachers’ Contest

On the same day, Dunkin Donuts will begin accepting nominations for the ‘Raise A Cup to Teachers’ competition. Guests can enter the competition by nominating a teacher who deserves to win a year of free coffee and a coffee break for their school.

The first 50 teachers who are nominated will receive 200 $1 medium hot or iced coffee VIP cards to share with their school staff. The winner will receive a year of free coffee and $300 in Dunkin’ Donuts products. Dunkinraiseacup.com accepts entries until October 5.

Aside from Dunkin Donuts, convenience store Wawa has announced a promotion in which teachers can get free coffee of any size at any of their locations throughout September.
