The Crown, a Netflix original series, has taken the globe by storm. The portrayal of Queen Elizabeth II and the royal family in the play has been praised. The Crown is a Netflix original series set in the 1930s at the outset of World War II.


The plot centres around the coronation of King George VI and Queen Elizabeth, who would go on to become Britain’s longest-reigning monarchs.

While we haven’t seen a queen on TV before, it is undeniably one of the most popular and highly praised series to date. The Crown follows Queen Elizabeth II from her childhood to the most recent events in the real lives of British royalty.

One of the best aspects of this programme has been its casting and similarity to real-life characters. We haven’t seen Netflix’s Royal family in over two years.

The Crown, Netflix’s famous drama, was on the quest for Prince William and Kate Middleton, which has been verified and welcomed two actors as the series is due to begin production this year.


Two actors have been hired to play the youthful Prince William, including Rufus Kampa as the 16-year-old prince and Ed McVey as the 21-year-old prince.

Meg Bellamy has been cast in the role of Kate Middleton as the Duchess of Cambridge.

The major casting reveal follows an official update on The Crown season 5, which is set to premiere on Netflix in November.

Rufus Kampa, who will play Prince William in Season 6, has a strong theatre resume.


He featured in Sue Townsend’s The Secret Diary of Adrian Mole 13 & 3/4 Musical on the West End, as well as at the Waterloo East Theatre and the Wycombe Swan.

He also attends Tring Park School for Performing Arts, which has produced talents such as Daisy Ridley and Dame Julie Andrews.


Ed McVey, who will be performing at The Crown hub, has previously been on stage at The Old Vic and the Hammersmith Riverside Studios. After a four-year training programme, he graduated from Drama Centre London last year.


Bellamy, who plays the Duchess of Cambridge, is a rising star with experience in amateur theatre and cinema. Her professional debut is in the well-known series.

According to Variety, all of the performers were identified after submitting audition tapes in response to a social media casting request.
