Kanye West wishes for his children to attend Donda Academy. The rapper’s most recent Instagram postings are about him attempting to persuade his ex-wife Kim Kardashian to send his children to Donda Academy rather than the private school she had chosen.

“This is co-parenting,” the 45-year-old rapper declares as he posts a screenshot of a chat he had with his ex-wife. Ye’s late mother inspired the name of the school. Is Donda Academy, nevertheless, a legitimate educational institution? Continue reading to discover.


What exactly is Donda Academy?

Donda Academy is a real-life educational institution founded by Kanye in Ventura County, California. The institute has its own official website and made news for the first time in October of last year.

The school promises to give pupils with a world-class education, with the objective of educating the youth of tomorrow. According to the school’s website, “Donda Academy develops students to become the next generation of leaders, thinkers, and innovators through an ethic of honesty and compassion.”

The educational initiative is a tuition-based private college with a “rigorous core curriculum with an emphasis on sustainability, creativity, critical thinking, and problem-solving,” according to its website.

Who is eligible for admission to Donda Academy?

According to the school’s website, students of all financial backgrounds are accepted. “Anyone, regardless of financial status, is invited to apply.” Financial help and scholarships are available to qualified students,” according to the website’s statement.

Classes are provided for kids in grades pre-K through 12, with no more than 12 students in one classroom. According to the school, the student-to-teacher ratio is 10:1. “Every day, Donda students learn basics, grow in their religion, and participate in two enrichment programmes,” according to the website.


Students will have full school worship; language arts, math, and science core subjects; recess and lunch break; and enrichment courses like as visual arts, film, chorus, and parkour on their daily schedules.

The school is accepting applications from prospective students for the upcoming academic session until June 10, 2023. The website also states that the number of available seats is restricted and that some candidates may be placed on a waitlist.

One of the Academy’s highlights is Gospel Chor.

Aside from regular academic programmes, the institution is also putting together a gospel choir. The website includes an entrance form, which is used to admit students into the choir. The form reads, “We are searching for youth who love to sing and lift up the name of Jesus to audition for the DONDA Academy Gospel Choir.”

During the epidemic, Ye launched his own Sunday Services, which have recently gained popularity. It is unknown whether the pupils approved for the gospel choir will be able to participate in Ye’s Sunday Services.

The school is now auditioning students in grades 2nd through 12th for the 2022-2023 academic year. During the school year, the students will have weekly rehearsals.
